BOK Club – Chapter 1 and 2 Discussion
November 13, 2025Using the BIG Readiness Model
The BIG CIC is presenting a session on readiness for Integrated Governance as part of the BIG Conference Series.
The BIG Readiness Model is an item available to BIG Members in spreadsheet form within the BIG BoK to capture an organisations status against BIG Principles.
This blog provides instructions on how to use the BIG Readiness model prepared by Chris Bragg using SharpCloud as the platform.
The model enables a user to map out their organisation and key governance bodies, and ultimately to map out points of accountability in order to discover / define the scope of a BIG Initiative. It enables the capture of status of an organisation against the BIG Principles to help build consensus of need. It enables a user to rate the components for Integrated Governance that are already in place. It further enables a user to categorise stakeholders with respect to how supportive or not they are.
Each of these elements will assist a protagonist to engage their stakeholders to build a case to do something.
To access the model before the BIG Readiness Session:
- Go to https://login.sharpcloud.com/
- Create a new Account

- Follow instructions until you have a new SharpCloud account and then log into that account.
- Then – register for the BIG Readiness Session
- You can register directly on the event (and pay a small fee)
- OR – become a BIG FULL or Conference Member – and book above using a Discount Code
- Please remember – the BIG CIC is NOT FOR PROFIT – any funds we receive are to the CIC, not shareholders or employees.
- If you do not want to participate in the event – or would like to try out the model on your own – please Contact Us with the request.
- We will then send you a BIG Readiness Story to upload.
- Once logged in click on the User Id icon in the top right hand corner of the window and select “Upload a story” from the drop down menu.
- Then upload the attached file you saved to a folder, and click OK.

- You should then see a new story in the SharpCloud dashboard and you can click on it to open it. It will open with the first View, with a list of Views (1 to 5, etc) on the left hand side and a guide (instructions for using/editing the view) on the left hand side.
What do we want attendees to do:
We do not expect them to be able to complete this accurately or completely during the session.
Instead we want them to have to do some of what we ask in order to make them think about what we are collecting on each View – the Views labelled ‘1’ to ‘4’ only, and think about how they may apply to their organisation, and who they will need to talk to both fill out these Views completely and go about initiating integrated governance.
View 1 – Organisation Structure / Governance Map / Accountability Map
- Right click on items to open / edit
- Right click in space to add new items
- Hover over items to drag or link them up (e.g. establishing accountable to)

View 2
Select a component and edit it – what is the status of this item in your (part of the) organisation?

Continue to the next item…

View 3 – Hover over items to see details

Drag the principle to the column it is best categorised in

View 4
For the stakeholders set up in view 1 – drag them to where you think they fit

Chris has created a short video to coach people through the object if the session and the practicalities of what to click. (please forgive the sound quality!)
Please Contact Us if you have problems.
We then we hope users will leave with a tool in their back pocket that they can take back to their colleagues/bosses and use to talk about what they have learned during the conference. If they send us their data we will also get back to them and offer some high level guidance on how to go further.
