This has been a busy BIG Year&#8230;<\/h1>\n<p>The &#8216;BIG Initiative&#8217; has been trundling along for a few years now &#8211; but this year has seen a HUGE amount of progress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Put simply, our achievement is: There is no reason to suffer with ineffective strategy delivery any longer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ineffective strategy delivery does not have to be the elephant in the room<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>We can spot the signs &#8211; protagonists can use our examples in their situations<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>There are concepts and principles with which to engage people &#8211; the language exists<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>We know what to build and operate to do it better &#8211; we have the components and lifecycle<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>We do not have to suggest completely new practice &#8211; all the knowledge exists &#8211; we just need to combine it<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Technology solutions are available &#8211; we just need to apply them<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Furthermore \u2013 there are <a href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/sponsors\/sponsors-list\/\">BIG Sponsor<\/a> organisations who can assist professionally if there is not enough volunteer time to go around.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We now have a base of 1000 CIC members, LinkedIn Group members and BIG friends.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>How have we got here?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>At the start of the year, we spent a lot of time promoting the release of the BIG Body of Knowledge, and with the support of some partners, we developed and ran a &#8220;Core BIG Presentation&#8221; webinar. The event report and recording is <a href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/blog\/why-what-and-how-you-can-improve-strategy-delivery-using-fit-for-purpose-integrated-governance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>accessible here<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. We recorded a <a title=\"Connecting Project &amp; Strategy Management through Integrated Governance \u2013\u00a0Knowledge\" href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/blog\/connecting-project-strategy-management-through-integrated-governance-knowledge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>follow on discussion of strategy delivery<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and further blogs on <a href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/blog\/the-role-of-business-integrated-governance-in-strategy-delivery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>governance<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/blog\/a-vision-for-the-capability-needed-for-effective-strategy-delivery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>vision<\/strong><\/span><\/a>..<\/p>\n<p>In the Spring, we collaborated with the <strong>Good Governance Academy<\/strong> and <strong>Dr Victoria Hurth<\/strong> to highlight the relationship between integrated governance and the \u201cPurpose Driven Organisation\u201d \u2013 where we introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/deepteam.co.uk\/pdo-event-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>PAS 808 &#8211; Purpose Driven Organisations<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and identified the <a href=\"https:\/\/deepteam.co.uk\/drivers-of-purpose-in-business-a-business-level-perspective-discussion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>challenges of integrating social and environmental responsibility<\/strong><\/span><\/a> into our strategy delivery \u2013 rather than just adding it onto things we might do..<\/p>\n<p>We collaborated with the people at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Transparent Choice<\/strong> \u2013 focusing again on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/deepteam.co.uk\/is-your-pmo-a-cost-centre-or-a-value-generator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the need for prioritisation<\/span><\/a><\/strong> \u2013 and emphasizing support (xMO) is needed to take the journey \u2013 which is more than just projects.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CPS<\/strong> \u2013 to illustrate that with an OKR platform \u2013 we can have the <a href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/blog\/connecting-strategy-to-delivery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>backbone for strategy delivery<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li>More solution providers see the BIG Framework as a capability to surround their solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since July, we have supported the <strong>APM<\/strong> (PMO and Governance groups), <strong>PMI<\/strong> (PM4THEWORLD Conference) and the <strong>House of PMO<\/strong> to help the portfolio, programme and project management community to appreciate the difference between Change Portfolio Management and Strategy Delivery.<\/p>\n<p>In Summary, we\u2019ve:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>shown that in many organisations \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/deepteam.co.uk\/connecting-pmo-with-the-business\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>there is a gap in support for strategy delivery<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li>demonstrated that to truly operate as a purpose driven organisation \u2013 taking environment and social responsibility seriously \u2013 we need to<a href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/blog\/the-path-to-a-resilient-world-an-effective-framework-connecting-purpose-esg-and-project-delivery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> build a pathway to a resilient world<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>evidenced the <a href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/blog\/connecting-project-strategy-management-through-integrated-governance-awareness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>gap between strategy and delivery<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in many dimensions<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/deepteam.co.uk\/transform-your-pmo-into-a-strategic-business-function-the-big-opportunity-for-pmo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>challenged the PMO community to step up and take the lead<\/strong><\/span><\/a> to close the gap between strategy and delivery<\/li>\n<li>clearly positioned Business Integrated Governance as a <a href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/blog\/connecting-project-strategy-management-through-integrated-governance-knowledge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>framework to connect strategy and delivery<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li>presented the <a href=\"https:\/\/big-cic.org.uk\/blog\/connecting-project-and-strategy-management-through-integrated-governance-ability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>BIG CIC approach to engaging stakeholders<\/strong><\/span><\/a> on the BIG Journey and walked a workshop full of people through it<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Other sessions will
